FAQ — Fitness Coaching Programmes

What should I wear to my Fitness Consultation?

Wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing that allows you to move easily. Activewear is ideal — such as leggings, shorts, a t-shirt, or a vest top. Choose supportive footwear like trainers, and avoid jeans, work clothes, or anything tight that may limit your movement during basic assessments.

What’s included in the Fitness Coaching Programme?

The Fitness Coaching Programme includes a customised training plan (gym or home), weekly check-ins, ongoing support through the coaching app, form and technique feedback, calorie and macro guidance, and a monthly in-person consultation in Troedyrhiw.

What’s included in the Fitness Coaching & Recovery Programme?

This programme includes everything in the standard coaching package, plus a 1-hour sports massage every month to support recovery, reduce muscle tension, and improve movement quality.

Is there a minimum commitment?

Yes — both programmes have a 3-month minimum commitment, which ensures we have time to build momentum, adjust your plan, and see meaningful, sustainable progress.

How does the initial consultation work?

Your first session is a 1-hour in-person consultation where we’ll discuss your goals, training history, lifestyle, and any challenges you’ve faced. We’ll also run through some basic fitness and movement assessments.

The consultation costs £30 — and if you choose to enrol, that fee is credited toward your first month.

What happens during the monthly in-person consultation?

We’ll review your progress, look at what’s working, identify any sticking points, and adjust your programme as needed. It’s your chance to talk through barriers, ask questions, and keep everything aligned with your goals.

Do I need access to a gym?

Not necessarily. Your programme can be designed for:

• A commercial gym

• A home setup

• A mix of both

Just tell me what equipment you have, and I’ll tailor the plan accordingly.

Can beginners join the programme?

Definitely. Whether you’re brand new to fitness or returning after a long break, the programme is designed to help you build confidence, structure, and consistency at your own pace.

Will this help me build muscle and strength?

Yes — the coaching is specifically designed to help people who’ve previously struggled to gain muscle, size, or strength. Your programme is tailored to your body, recovery ability, experience level, and available equipment. If your fitness goals are different, such as losing weight, we can also support with this.

How are training programmes delivered?

All programmes are delivered through a third-party coaching app, where you’ll find your training plan, exercise demos, progress tracking tools, check-in forms, and chat support.

Can I carry over my monthly sports massage?

For those on The Fitness Coaching & Recovery Programme, you can carry over your massage for up to 14 days into the next calendar month to ensure fairness and manageable service levels. If something unavoidable comes up, get in touch — reasonable exceptions may be made.

What happens if I can’t make my massage appointment?

The usual cancellation policy applies: please give at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, the session will be counted as used.

Of course, we understand that unavoidable things can happen — if that’s the case, just get in touch and we’ll do our best to find a fair solution.

Can I book extra sports massages?

Yes — you can book additional sessions at the standard rates. Please see our sports massage services for more information.

Where are the in-person consultations held?

All in-person consultations and reviews take place at:

Live Life Chiropractic & Health Clinic, Troedyrhiw, Merthyr Tydfil

You’ll receive the full address after booking, and it’s also available on the website. Free parking is nearby, and it’s a short walk from the train station.

Do you offer in-person personal training in a gym or at home?

No — we don’t currently offer in-person PT sessions. The in-person elements of your coaching are the consultations and reviews.

This structure keeps the service affordable while helping you become more confident and independent in your chosen training environment.

If you need help with form or technique, you can:

• Bring it up during your monthly review, or

• Send form videos through the app anytime for feedback.

How do weekly check-ins work?

You’ll complete a short check-in form each week. We’ll review your training, consistency, recovery, nutrition targets, and challenges, then send personalised feedback and adjust your plan as needed.

What support do I get between consultations?

You’ll have ongoing support through the coaching app, including messaging. You'll also have form feedback as needed, and weekly assessment of your training. You’re never left guessing.

Can I switch between the two programmes?

Yes — you can switch between the standard coaching option and the coaching + recovery option. Just provide one month’s notice so billing can be updated correctly.

How do payments work?

Payments are taken via monthly subscription. The initial consultation fee is paid separately, and if you enrol, it’s credited to your first month.

What’s your cancellation policy?

For any fitness programme, you can cancel with 1 month’s notice after the 3-month minimum term.

If you need to cancel or reschedule any appointment — whether it’s your fitness consultation, in-person review, or monthly sports massage — please give at least 24 hours’ notice.

Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice are non-refundable and will be counted as used for that month.

We understand that unavoidable situations can come up, so if something genuinely out of your control happens, just reach out and we’ll do our best to support you fairly.
